Term 4, Week 7

Welcome to week 7 everyone!

I can’t believe how quick this year has gone! Very soon these awesome young people will be heading to Year 6! Amazing!
If you witnessed OLC's Got Talent this morning you would have been lucky enough to see 5 outstanding Year 5 performances! They were all amazing and very professionally done. Congratulations to everyone that was involved.

Camp:
It is getting very exciting here in Year 5 as from next Wednesday we will be heading to Bridgetown for our camp. An email was sent out last week detailing who was coming with us and I would just like to say once again thank you to all those that put their hand up.

Speeches:
This Thursday morning at 10am the students will be presenting their Leadership speech to the Year 4's. This year only the students running for Head and deputy roles will be presenting them in the Hall. Please feel free to come along.

Vinnies Appeal:
If you can discuss with your child a donation (toiletries - wrapped soap, hair elastics, combs, shampoo/conditioner etc.) for our Vinnies Appeal we would be very grateful. If they can please bring these in by Friday next week. These donations can then be boxed up and delivered to local families in need.

Evacuation Fire Drill:
Please see communication that has been sent from Admin on this. You will need to come to the classroom to collect your child. If you are unable to do so, you will need to contact the office and advise them as to who will be picking up your child.

End of Year Awards Night:
This will be held on Tuesday 10th December. Brush off those Christmas themed t-shirts!

Homework:
1. Reading - Students are to read for 15 minutes each night. Please encourage them to read out loud to you at least twice a week.
2. Mental Maths – We have completed all the units in the mental maths booklet. So I have created a very dodgy 4 page sheet to be completed by Friday. It is all mental questions.
3Spelling - LSCWC Sheet. As well as the activities we have been completing all year.
