Final Camp Information 2018

Good afternoon parents,

Attached are some final information about the Year 5 camp which is happening  from tomorrow. I have looked at the weather, it is going to be very chilly! Fingers crossed it stays this way).

The first item attached is some final camp information:


With our camp nearly here I have put together a few final reminders. Please remember:
  • Students are to be at school at around 7:30am on Wednesday for an 8:00am departure.
  • Any medication for your child (clearly marked with their name) needs to be handed to me in the morning.
  • LUNCH and Morning Tea need to be provided by the student
Packing list:

r  Pillow and pillow case
r  2 single sheets or a fitted sheet (please remember the campsite has requested NO sleeping bags)
r  Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, etc.)
r  Bath towel
r  Beach towel
r  Waterproof jacket
r  Cool casual clothes (not your best clothes) – old jeans, shorts, t-shirts, jumper, tracksuit pants.  WARM CLOTHES
r  Bathers
r  Pyjamas
r  Underwear & socks
r  One pair of comfortable, protective shoes / sneakers
r  One pair of sandals / thongs
r  A large garbage bag to put dirty clothes in
r  Hat
r  Sun cream
r  Water bottle
r  Bike helmet
r  Day pack (this needs to have in it:  your drink bottle, your jumper, a towel and anything else you might need during the day).

Term 2, Week 8


Here are some very important updates for Year 5 including homework, camp and the new art club.

P&F Disco – The school disco will be on Friday 22nd June in the hall. Good luck to those poor parents that are involved in supervising.

Cross Country - Is on this Thursday 21st June beginning at 9am. Good luck to all students that will be participating, Please make sure that your child comes with their faction shirt on. Let’s pray that the rain will stay away.

Grandparents Day
Attached below is the Grandparents day note that was handed out today.



Art Club
For the first time OLC is lucky enough to have an art club. This will involve a small group of Year 5 and 6 students. There is no pressure to nominate to be in the club which will be held on a Tuesday afternoon between 3:15 to 4:15. Below is a picture of what the students need to do to apply for the club.

For those students that are still struggling to understand what the activities for spelling are, there is a success criteria on their Onenote.

Camp 2018



Good afternoon everyone,

Attached below is the permission slip for camp as well as the packing list. A hard copy of the permission slip, packing list and the medical form will be sent home tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you to the parents that have volunteered to come along to the camp this year. This is the largest amount of people that have put their hand up, which is fantastic.

If your child has any dietary requirements could you please email me so I can send the information through to the camp school.

Packing List:

What you will need:
(Please remember to keep it simple and make sure that all items are labelled)
Packed

        Packed Recess and Lunch – Wednesday 27th June.
(Don’t bring a lunchbox – wrap your lunch in disposable wrap that we can dispose of once you have finished eating.)

        Water Bottle – please label

         Fitted Sheet (the camp provides doonas) strictly no Sleeping Bags.

         Pillow Slip (Pillow provided by camp)

         Casual Clothes - the weather will be cool at night. (There will be a fair bit of mud and dust involved in our activities, so please make sure that your child does not bring their best clothes)
Include:
Shorts
T-Shirts – short and long sleeve
Track Pants
Jeans
Jumper x 2 at least

         Rain jacket

         Underwear

         Socks

        Ugg Boots/Gloves/Beanies – the weather will be cold!

        Pyjamas

        Hat

         Helmet

         Bathers/Rashie

        Sneakers

         Thongs

         Towels – Bathing and Wet Activity

        Tea  Towels x 2 (Students will be responsible for washing up after meals and we need to provide our own. Please make sure that these are clearly labelled or else they will be donated to the camp site)

         Personal Toiletries – (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, soap/body wash, shampoo/conditioner, flannel/body puff, deodorant etc.) Please put these in a small toiletries bag that you child can pick up easily.

         Sunscreen/Insect repellent

        Garbage Bags x 2 – it is helpful if the students bring these to put their dirty clothes in. Another for wet clothes, shoes and towels is also helpful.

        Reading Book

        Small pencil case - with a small number of pencils to complete their Diary activity each night.

         iPads – these can be brought on the bus for the way there and back. They will be collected upon arrival and returned as we leave.

        Medication – Please make sure that the Permission Form has been completed and signed. All medication must be given to me in a zip-lock bag that is clearly labelled.

Please complete the “Permission Slip” (below). Please return the completed forms by Tuesday 19th June.

The cost for camp this year will be added to each student’s school fees. If there are any difficulties with making this payment, please come and speak to myself or Mr Wilkie as soon as possible.
