Week 4 - CARE Values

Good afternoon parents,
Below are some updates for week 4.

C.A.R.E Values:
Today we had a big discussion about the school values at OLC. We broke down the four school values:
·         Compassion
·         Appreciation
·         Respect
·         Excellence

We spoke about how as leaders of the school next year it is vital that we show the school values, as younger year groups will be looking up to us. It is very important that we show these values outside the classroom, but just as important is to show these values inside the classroom to fellow peers.

If you could continue this conversation with your child that would be much appreciated.

iPads:
I would just like to remind everyone that iPads need to brought into the classroom everyday. As well they need to be fully charged. The classroom is starting to become a haven of iPad charging. As we move into the LEADing lights system, it is extremely necessary that iPads come in fully charged.

Leadership Speeches:
The leadership speeches are coming along beautifully. Below are some pictures of the students peer assessing their speech. This created some great discussion between the students.

Term 4 - Week 3 update

Good afternoon parents,
Below are some updates for week 3.

Leadership Speeches:
During our literacy sessions the students have been creating their Leadership speeches. They needed to include:
-       Introduction
-       Why am I a good leader (What qualities I have)
-       Goals for 2018 (What can you do for the school)
-       What makes OLC special
-       Conclusion (a strong finish)

They will be finished in the next couple of days. I encourage each student to go home and read it through with their parents.
