Welcome to week 2 everyone. It has been an
excellent start to the term and I can’t wait to keep it throughout.
Interschool Cross Country:
This Thursday some of the Year 5 students as well
as the Year 3,4 and 6 students will be heading to Bunbury for the interschool
cross country. The bus is leaving the school at 8:30am and
will be returning around the 2:30pm.
Good luck to all students that are attending. I
have had a look at the forecast in Bunbury for Thursday and it looks like it
will be a lovely day.
Welcome Mass:
If you would like to join Fr Francis for his first
mass at OLTSC this Sunday morning 3rd August, beginning at 9am we would love to
see you there.
Champion Life:
We have started using a new physical fitness and
mental well being application called Champion Life. This has been a great
addition to the class room. From this week, students have challenges that they
can complete at home.
It is a great app and it would be great if you
could get involved with your child as a family thing.
Mission Markets
Our annual OLC Mission Markets- celebrating
Our Lady of the Cape Feast Day- are fast approaching (Thursday 15th
August - Week 4). We will be doing something involving mini basketball hoops and balls. I will be ask students if they could to bring theirs in if they have one.
Our Learning:
Maths: Place Value: Our Maths focus this term will be place value up to a
million, division, money, volume, capacity and mass.
Literacy: This
term we are looking at a variety of topics. Our writing focus this
term will look at the informative text genre and what we can include in our own
written texts to inform a reader.
HASS: In
our HASS subject we will have a focus on Needs and Wants. The
difference between needs and wants and why choices need to be made about how
limited resources are used. Types of resources (natural, human, capital) and
the ways societies use them to satisfy the needs and wants of present and
future generations
Science: In
Science we will be focusing on the solar system.
P&F Plate Fundraiser

please collect it from the office.

For those students that are still struggling to
understand what the activities for spelling are, there is a success criteria on
